We at Child’s Play are deeply saddened by the recent tragic events and loss that has befallen our beloved Lewiston community. We have spent the last few days trying to process this unfathomable series of events, holding our loved ones close, and grieving the loss of friends, acquaintances, and fellow community members.
While we are thankful that our team and their families are safe, we are heartbroken for the many families that have lost a loved one to these unspeakable acts of violence.
Our Maine location is based in Auburn, while most of our employees live in Lewiston. The Twin Cities of Maine have always been more than just a location for our company. It is our home, the place where our team lives and works, and where we have had the privilege of serving the community for more than 30 years. We have been honored to be a part of the fabric of this community, and we share in the grief that has touched the lives of our neighbors.
Lewiston has always been a resilient, close-knit community, and together, we will overcome these difficult times. We celebrate the strength and unity that define our town, and we remember the cherished memories of those that we have lost.
Our hearts go out to the affected individuals and families during this trying time. Our thoughts are with you, and we will continue to stand by your side as we navigate this journey of healing together.
In the face of this tragedy, we stand in unwavering solidarity with the Lewiston community. There are no words that feel adequate, but we offer our love and support, and will be here to help in any way we can.
We have included some links below to resources for children's books on grief, and a link to the Center For Grieving Children, a wonderful resource for our folks in Maine. These are just a few of the many resources that are out there. We hope they are helpful.
Sincerely,
Child's Play
