Virtual Read-Aloud Permissions Requests

Live Book Reading Events - Permissions Guidelines

Educators and librarians may read books published by Child's Play (International) Ltd. aloud and show the illustrations in live videos broadcasted on social media, and on Google Classroom.

The video must be entirely not for profit.

Please delete the video after a month has passed.

Please include the phrase 'This picture book has been reproduced with permission of Child's Play (International) Ltd.' at the start or end of the video (or in the video's description, if available). If possible, please also read out the 'text and illustrations' copyright information listed in the front of the book.

Please note that the reader must have a physical copy of the book - this permission does not extend to videos which use scans, photos or screenshots of the book.

If you will be uploading your read-aloud video to Youtube, please select 'Unlisted' in the settings.

If you go ahead with your reading, please send us a message via our 'Contact Us' form with a representative's contact details and a description of where and how the video was shared. We would love to hear about it!

Please encourage viewers to consider supporting the authors and illustrators by purchasing a copy of the book and/or leaving a review online.
